Garodia International Center for Learning
We conducted a science teacher training workshop at the Garodia International Center for Learning with primary school teachers. The workshop focused on learning how to create challenges that encourage children to learn science through problem solving and collaboration. Topics included density, buoyancy, thrust, Newton's third law of motion and acids & bases.
" We were engaged in hands-on, easy to do, mind probing, cost-effective science experiments. The workshop was well planned and executed by Ms. Purvi & Ms. Sangeeta, implementing all the steps involved in a scientific method. The simultaneous documenting of the experiments , in the form of a worksheet ensured thorough understanding of their principles & objectives. The lesson plans shared with us were comprehensive and age appropriate. Personally , after all these years of following the traditional approach of teaching, what I witnessed and experienced in this interactive workshop was that, this workshop brought forth the idea of bringing ’the lab to the students rather than taking the students to the lab’. I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of this workshop. It was fun being a learner, an explorer once again!" -Feedback from one of the teachers

The Akanksha Foundation
The Learning Lab partnered with The Akanksha Foundation to create experiential and hands-on activities and performance tasks for their 1st and 2nd standard science units. These will be used in Akanksha schools across Mumbai and Pune and will benefit the over 250 children.
Feedback:
- Through the flow of session a lot of strategies were modeled for teachers to understand and use in class.
--The jigsaw around the performance assessment was really effective. The readings were short and informative. The process was done well with set protocols
- What I really understood is how I can include other processing skills in my daily teaching.
